“Who gets to decide how I practice my Judaism? Who gets to decide how I interpret and respond to current events in Israel and Palestine? I find it hard to believe that Hillel can be both the ‘foundation for Jewish campus life’ and exclude Jewish students’ voices because of political views.”
“My Jewish identity provides context to my life, my worldview and my experiences. I should feel welcomed at Hillel, especially because my personal opposition to the occupation of Palestine stems from my Jewish values.”
“Hillel has been my home for the past three and a half years. When I first walked in the door at the beginning of my first year of college, I felt immediately welcomed by the other students there. I want this inclusivity to extend to everyone — not just those people with the ‘right’ views on Israel.”

Your testimonial

We believe that it is important for us, as students, to express our views in our own words. Thus, in addition to the Open Hillel petition, we are collecting testimonials from students explaining why we value inclusivity, free discourse, and the presence of a diversity of political views in our community.

We welcome current Harvard students and alums to submit testimonials using the form below. These testimonials may be presented to members of the Harvard Hillel and Hillel International leadership. If you would prefer not to have your name associated with your testimonial, you may indicate that in the form. Some testimonials may also be published on the website; if you would prefer yours not to be publicly published, you may also indicate that. All testimonials are subject to review before being published or shared, but we will contact you before making any edits to your testimonial.
