Open Hillel Membership

Open Hillel is committed to democratic accountability in the Jewish community. We have launched an official membership program to insure that students who are committed to our mission, vision, and principles will have a say in the direction and future of the organization.

Who is eligible to become a member?

Members are students or recent alum who demonstrate an understanding of Open Hillel’s mission, vision, and core principles, and are committed to future participation in Open Hillel’s programs and campaigns. There is no financial requirement for membership, although we suggest making an annual $18 contribution. Membership is renewed each year in June.

How do I become a member?

If you have already been involved in Open Hillel programs or campaigns, you are eligible to become a member. If you have not yet been involved, but would like to be, fill out this interest form and a staff or steering committee member will contact you shortly.

Why should I become a member?

By becoming a member of Open Hillel, you will be counted among the hundreds of students, professors and community members calling for open discourse, pluralism and democratic accountability in the Jewish community. You will be able to participate in our online communication platform, elect our board members and steering committee, vote for amendments to our bylaws, and give input as to the direction of the organization.

Please take a few moments to fill out this interest form and we will follow up shortly:
